Job Description Summary The Financial Analyst II assists with performing professional financial analysis to support optimal decision-making for the organization. Responsible for insuring that all financial information generated is accurate and timely. The Financial Analyst II will consistently demonstrate support of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab statement of Vision, Mission and Core Values by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required - preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience supporting an FP&A team, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Advanced financial skills, including a core understanding of the relationship between income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolve problems.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize concurrent responsibilities and meet timelines.
  • Proficient with Excel functionality such as lookups, pivot tables, and charts.
  • Able to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with financial planning tools such as Adaptive Planning preferred.
  • Experience with other financial based software programs such as Tableau and Decision Tools (or other statistics, optimization, and Monte Carlo simulation tool) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis including financial modeling, reporting, and building management review presentations using financial and encounter reporting tools and data.
  • Provide key support and analysis in annual operating and capital budget planning process.
  • Collaborate with and provide technical and analytical support to department managers in preparation of department level budget and monthly variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly reports (specifically financial performance and budget tracking) and communicate trends and issues that impact the business.
  • Assist with conducting financial and market analysis on various internal initiatives and external business development opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend areas of improvements such as increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report.
  • Educate self through industry readings, conferences, and other forums on critical financial and healthcare trends.
  • Perform financial risk and care/cost variation analysis including some advanced statistical techniques.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
