The primary focus of a Financial Aid Counselor is to provide a significant level of advising to students and parents regarding the financial aid application, awarding, and disbursement process. This position also handles the verification process from start to finish, works with Satisfactory Academic Progress, and financial aid appeals. Full position description is available upon request. Our professional staff provides personalized counseling and outreach to educate and empower all students to make higher education more accessible and to reach graduation. The Office of Financial Aid and Veteran Services plays an integral part in student recruitment and retention efforts and educating our students on financial awareness topics which helps support the University’s mission by preparing our students for a diverse and inclusive world. The office is under the umbrella of the University Communications and Marketing division at UW-Stevens Point.
