• Advise and assist students and parents with the Financial Aid application and awarding process • Completes verification process for selected aid recipients • Package and award financial aid funds • Resolve all conflicting information; rejects; Federal data base match conflicts; and “C” comments • Collect and secure documents necessary for special circumstances, dependency overrides, and all other financial aid documents • Prepare and maintain student files • Review financial aid application forms and student documents for accuracy and completeness • Manage and Reconcile TOPS programs for the College • Manage and reconcile federal and/or state programs • Work Financial Aid Reports to ensure proper disbursement of financial aid • Advise students of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and appeals process • Communicate with students via postal mail, email, by phone, in person, and virtually, to resolve processing problems and/or conflicting information • Assist and represent the College in Financial Aid Outreach Events and Financial Aid Awareness • Attend conferences to keep abreast of changing financial ad regulations • Reference and track students through FSA Partner Connect systems • Keeps track of financial aid material and office supplies and order when needed • Assist with the coordination of documents for program reviews and audits • Work closely with Admissions, Registrar, Information Technology, Student Accounts, and external agencies to ensure the dissemination of accurate financial aid information to prospective students • Utilize advanced identity-verification technologies and front-end auditing to detect and prevent fraudulent applications early in the cycle. • Coordinates the full lifecycle of federal and state programs (SEOG, TOPS, M.J. Foster, Patriot, Go Grant, etc.) through precise eligibility identification, communication, and rigorous SIS data reconciliation to optimize the student’s aid package. • This position requires proactive communication, timely and accurate service to internal and external partners, accountability for follow-up and follow-through, and a continuous improvement mindset aligned with LDCC’s Standards of Practice for excellence, collaboration, and service. • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
