The Opportunity: The Financial Accounting Manager position owns responsibilities related to the General Ledger, as well as oversight of Payroll and Accounts Payable functions. Duties include managing the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, supporting audit activities, and leading process improvement initiatives. The role also includes providing guidance to staff, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Candidates should have experience with professional services organizations and managing a General Ledger of at least $50 million.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including GL, payroll, and AP
  • 2+ years supervisory or managerial experience
  • Expert in general ledger oversight and complex reconciliations
  • Proven in preparing working papers and driving efficient month-end close
  • Advanced GAAP, accruals, and internal controls knowledge
  • Collaborates with auditors for compliance and smooth audits
  • Led payroll and accounts payable teams, ensuring accuracy
  • Skilled in payroll systems and ERP

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Ensure accurate journal entries and reconciliations
  • Support audits and maintain chart of accounts
  • Supervise payroll operations and compliance
  • Coordinate with HR for accurate employee data
  • Oversee payroll tax filings and reporting
  • Lead AP team in invoice and payment processing
  • Review and approve payment batches
