The Finance/Technical Data Governance Analyst is responsible for overseeing and executing key data governance, finance operations, and technical functions related to master data management, system support, and process optimization. This role serves as a bridge between finance, IT, and various enterprise stakeholders, ensuring data integrity, effective financial close cycles, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role will also support strategic projects, such as Project Genesis, focusing on data-driven transformation and enhanced analytics capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive and related experience in financial operations, data governance, or master data management.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Compass), data lifecycle management, and testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated abilities in issue resolution, facilitation, and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with process improvement, change management, and compliance in a regulated industry preferred.

  • Familiarity with digital transformation, analytics, or automation initiatives is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute Compass Month End Close activities, partnering with Accounting Shared Service contacts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Serve as Compass System Administrator, managing user access, roles, and permissions, overseeing system configurations, coordinating with IT for system maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve Compass or related system issues.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental meetings to align stakeholders and end-users.
  • Perform User Acceptance and Regression testing for system upgrades to ensure seamless transitions and system reliability.
  • Conduct Master Data Quality Audits in Compass to maintain system accuracy.
  • Deliver trainings, presentations, workshops, and group communications on data governance topics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, developing and implementing effective solutions as part of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Monitor and audit master data quality, proactively remediating issues to maintain compliance with defined standards.
  • Support centralized master data operations for creation and ongoing maintenance, ensuring alignment with global policies and business requirements.
  • Support standardized data design, naming conventions, and consistent data definitions and usage across all assigned projects and operational activities.
  • Enforce compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and participate in the introduction of new compliance documents and controls.
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders including R&D Finance teams, business leaders, requestors, and site-level data/process approvers.
  • Support organizational change across global and functional areas related to adoption of best practices for master data, business processes, and system enhancements.
  • Highlight and recommend process improvement opportunities as part of a continuous review and innovation culture.
  • Act as a key contributor to Project Genesis, supporting the development, integration, and optimization of new data governance frameworks and tools.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, project work, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
