DESCRIPTION: The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for partnering with business and technology teams to translate business needs into clear data definitions, data models, business processes, and internal controls; supporting the design and execution of governed workflows; and ensuring alignment across master data management, data quality, metadata, and downstream data pipelines. The Data Governance Analyst will write documentation, facilitate workshops, configure workflows using GID applications, and work with data stewards to drive reliable, trustworthy, and well-governed enterprise data and will promote data literacy and adoption of governance practices across GID. The Data Governance Analyst will also embrace GID’s company values of accountability, inclusiveness, energizing, and courageousness.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve Data Governance PMO artifacts using Smartsheet and/or Jira.
  • Facilitate workshops with data owners and stewards for data discovery, definition, requirements gathering, and CRUD (Create, Review, Update, Deprecate) process design.
  • Translate workshop outputs into current- and future-state data models, data flows, and CRUD process diagrams.
  • Produce clear, well-structured documentation, including data requirements, epics/user stories, CRUD process documentation, technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and test scripts.
  • Partner with IT and Data Engineering to ensure alignment among MDM, metadata, and upstream/downstream data pipelines.
  • Configure, test, and deploy CRUD workflows and technical specifications in Syncari in accordance with GID’s SDLC standards.
  • Define and implement data quality rules, validation checks, and exception handling procedures.
  • Train and support Data Stewards on maintaining CRUD processes, metadata, and data catalog entries; help facilitate Data Governance Councils.
  • Promote adoption and continuous improvement of data governance practices, literacy, tools, and processes across the organization.
