About The Position

AI Fire is a leading provider of fire and life safety services in the U.S. We offer national account services via its vendor network at Academy Fire and serve local and regional customers through Impact Fire’s employed technicians. Our hybrid model allows us to simultaneously cater to national, multi-site customers who wish to outsource the vendor management process and support customers who prefer a direct relationship with fire protection professionals. AI Fire is seeking a Finance Support Intern to join the Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is strong in Excel, highly detail‑oriented, and interested in gaining exposure to day‑to-day finance and accounting operations within a fast‑paced, growing organization. The main focus will be supporting prevailing wage, and compliance documentation. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to observe and assist with broader finance team activities, gaining hands‑on experience and insight into how finance operates in a dynamic business environment.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with repetitive, compliance‑driven tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines consistently
  • Interest in finance, accounting, payroll, or business operations
  • Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with prevailing wage and certified payroll documentation, including organizing, reviewing, and maintaining required support files
  • Support compliance reporting by ensuring accurate employee classifications, rates, and supporting documentation
  • Use Excel to track, reconcile, and organize data (filters, lookups, formatting, basic formulas)
  • Assist the Finance team with general day‑to-day tasks, which may include data entry, report preparation, and administrative support
  • Collaborate with payroll, HR, and finance team members to ensure timely and accurate documentation
  • Follow established processes while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
