About The Position

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), a nonprofit founded in 1943, has grown to be the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. We provide state-of-the-art programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds each year. Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance and Reporting Manager to join our Finance team at our White Plains headquarters. Reporting to the CFO, with a dotted line to the Controller, this hands-on role is responsible for developing and maintaining financial reports, driving financial analysis, supporting cash management and treasury operations, and providing decision-support insights to organizational leaders. This full-time hybrid position has a salary range of $100,000 - $120,000.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience, including work in a non-profit organization.
  • Significant expertise with non-profit financial management information systems and skilled at using general ledger reporting modules.
  • Prior experience in nonprofit budgets and Federal grants and compliance.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills. Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the principles & theories of non-profit GAAP.
  • Experience working with complex accounting structures and multiple legal entities.
  • Able to manage varied reports and multiple reporting deadlines and to juggle competing priorities and hit deadlines. Experience with NY State Consolidated Fiscal reporting a plus.
  • Able to clearly, concisely and effectively deliver oral and written reports with strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to gather and synthesize facts and data and draw related insights.
  • Collaborative hands-on team player.
  • Experience working with outsourced accounting functions preferred.
  • Technology savvy with experience in selecting and overseeing financial software implementations (e.g. Budgeting, automated expense report systems).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Experience with NY State Consolidated Fiscal reporting a plus.
  • Experience working with outsourced accounting functions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cashflow projections and related modeling, and support CFO with elements of Treasury operations.
  • Review and update expense allocations across programs, grants, and other relevant data dimensions.
  • Manage bank and credit card system administration, approvals of Finance dept. invoices and payment processing in BILL and Intacct (financial system).
  • Liaising with outsourced accounting and accounts payable team.
  • Collaborating closely with outsourced accounting team help develop & maintain actual vs. budget financial reports for budget owners and program management; Review and explain variances.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports for the Board and related committees.
  • Provide financial analysis to assist with decision support.
  • Manage reporting calendar and ensure timely reporting to internal and external parties (Banks, State and Federal agencies and other parties).
  • Support preparation and filing of Form 990s, CHAR500 and NY State Consolidated Fiscal report (Community Programs of WJCS).
  • Assist with the development of certain aspects of annual agency budget in conjunction with senior program and finance staff.
  • Coordinating? with insurance broker on coverage renewals and claims.
  • Develop policies and procedures related to the role’s duties.
