Responsibilities: Prepare, record and maintain general ledger entries and GL account reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany accounts Support financial statement preparation (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) Support revenue recognition and cost allocation for cost-plus, T&M, fixed price contracts Prepare and submit customer, subcontractor and vendor invoices Process and finalize payroll accurately and timely Review, audit, and validate payroll data (hours, rates, deductions, taxes) Serve as primary point of contact for payroll inquiries and issue resolution Coordinate with employees and project managers to resolve timesheet discrepancies Perform labor distribution, journal entries, GL reconciliations and benefits mapping Maintain records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Prepare and assist with tax filings, W-2 preparation, state taxes and year-end reporting Record, maintain and reconcile PTO accruals, leave balances, employee and employer contributions, deductions Support internal and external audits Support process improvements, system enhancements or implementations Generate payroll, labor, and financial reports for management Support Accounting and FP&A team and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and management Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years of experience specifically within the Government Contracting (GovCon) industry. Payroll Expertise: Proven experience managing multi-state payroll and a strong understanding of federal/state payroll tax regulations. GovCon Knowledge: Familiarity with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DCAA compliance requirements is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in GovCon-specific ERPs (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or Sage Intacct ). Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation). Experience with payroll platforms Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills for resolving employee inquiries and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential data with total discretion. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
