About The Position

We are seeking an Accounting Manager US (m/f/d) to take responsibility for accounting, tax, and financial compliance for our US entity. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with oversight of tax-related matters, particularly Sales Tax, VAT, and property tax requirements. You will work closely with the global Shared Service Center, which handles transactional accounting activities, while you focus on ensuring compliance, managing tax matters, and supporting financial governance locally. This role requires a hands-on accounting professional who can actively contribute to daily operations while supporting strategic finance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong accounting background with hands-on experience in US accounting and tax requirements
  • Experience with Sales Tax, VAT, and property tax compliance
  • Experience with Sales Tax setup, configuration, and exemptions
  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to work operationally as well as strategically
  • Experience working with Shared Service Centers or global finance structures is preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS knowledge is an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a global matrix organization
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Shared Service Centers or global finance structures is preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS knowledge is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and Group Accounting policies
  • Act as local accounting expert for our US entity, ensuring correctness of financial statements and reporting
  • Work closely with Shared Service Center responsible for transactional accounting activities
  • Review and validate accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
  • Coordinate with external accounting advisors, auditors, and tax consultants
  • Manage Sales Tax and VAT-related topics, including determination of applicable taxes and exemptions
  • Oversee Sales Tax configuration and setup within systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance with Sales Tax, property tax, and other local tax obligations
  • Coordinate with accounting teams and external advisors on tax-related matters
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with US accounting and tax requirements
  • Support audits and ensure proper documentation for tax and statutory compliance
  • Act as finance business partner to local management
  • Support ERP and process improvements in collaboration with Group Finance
  • Ensure documentation and standardization of accounting and tax processes
  • Support financial analysis and reporting for management and Group Finance
  • Collaborate with global finance teams to ensure consistent processes and reporting
