Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager to be a key member of the AWS GenAI team. This role is critical in not only addressing financial deliverables (Weekly Business Review, Monthly Financial Reviews, Operating Plans, pricing/discounts, etc.) but also driving the business to find efficiencies to grow profit. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization, along with managing risks and opportunities. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders. This role will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including Product Managers, Engineers and GMs, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.

Requirements

5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Nice To Haves

6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Responsibilities

Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations.
Build financial models for new business concepts, make analytical judgments, and deliver data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change.
Present financial summary and business insights to the business and finance leadership.
Develop and standardize financial reporting packages.
Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency.
