About The Position

The Finance Operations (FinOps) Business Partnership (BP) team is seeking a Finance Manager who will be a key member of the Global Transportation BP team. In this role, you will drive Accounts Payable performance across multiple modes of Transportation globally, developing and maintaining operational metrics, assessing priority areas, driving global operational reviews, and owning improvements to achieve targets. You will partner with upstream business, finance, technology, tax, and accounting teams to build scalable payables processes and remove defects. As a business partner, you will collaborate daily with Accounts Payable, Service Centers, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Accounting, Technology, Customers, and other operational groups at all levels in a global environment. Your strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills will be essential to manage multiple high-visibility priorities in a fast-paced environment where you'll navigate ambiguous situations and drive effective solutions. The Finance Operations Business Partnership team works across Amazon's global transportation network to ensure operational excellence in financial processes. Requirements

5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Nice To Haves

MBA, or CPA
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Responsibilities

Define and develop key performance indicators, operational metrics, and service level agreements for programs and processes, tracking delivery against global objectives
Partner with leadership to consolidate inputs, challenge assumptions on performance drivers and projections from stakeholders, and maintain effective relationships between Finance Operations, Service Centers, and Transportation businesses
Analyze critical data sets to trace defect areas to root causes, scope future state solutions, influence roadmap decisions, and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions
Solve complex customer, process, and system escalations to ensure thorough root cause analysis and effective problem resolution
Identify and quantify financial and operational risks and opportunities while recommending practices to ensure financial data integrity and compliance with internal and external policies

Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
