About The Position

You'll be the financial analyst behind Amazon MGM Studios' operational fixed opex excellence, translating complex financial data into strategic recommendations. Your day will be a dynamic blend of financial analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll dive deep into financial models, unravel complex data narratives, and work closely with teams across the organization to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. We are a collaborative and innovative Financial Planning & Analysis team committed to delivering exceptional financial insights. Our work directly supports Amazon MGM Studios' strategic goals, enabling data-driven decision-making in a fast-evolving media environment. Requirements

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, or CPA
  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
  • Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
  • FP&A and/or Public Accounting background, including an understanding of entertainment/studios accounting concepts
  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and senior levels of management
  • Demonstrated curiosity to learn complex new subjects quickly and earn business/finance partners' trust

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive financial planning cycles, including month-end, quarterly, and annual operating plans
  • Drive process automation and enhance financial controllership through innovative solutions
  • Analyze complex financial data and develop insightful reports for key stakeholders
  • Support month-end close processes and ensure accurate financial reporting

Benefits

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
  • Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
