About The Position

As the FP&A Finance Manager for Legence’s Installation & Maintenance Segment, you will lead all financial planning and analysis activities a multi‑business‑unit portfolio consisting of Installation & Fabrication and Maintenance & Service service lines. You will be a trusted strategic partner to segment and business unit leadership – driving insight into performance, shaping investment decisions, and ensuring alignment with Legence’s growth and profitability objectives. This role requires strong analytical rigor, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. You will play a key role in forecasting, long-range planning, segment performance reviews, and M&A support and integration, while ensuring consistency and accuracy across financial systems and reporting frameworks. This role will partner closely with Finance and segment leadership, Business Unit Controllers, Project Accounting, and Operations, to ensure transparency and accountability across financial performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A or Corporate Finance, including ownership of a business unit or segment forecast
  • Strong command of financial systems (OneStream, Power BI, or equivalent ERP/BI tools).
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills and experience creating dynamic dashboards and management reports
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams through M&A integration, budgeting cycles, and system implementations
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic Partnering: Ability to build trust and influence decisions across finance, operations, and executive leadership
  • Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of US GAAP, project-based revenue, and financial modeling best practices
  • Analytical Excellence: Highly skilled in identifying performance drivers and translating financial data into business insights
  • Operational Mindset: Deep understanding of professional services or engineering project economics, including labor efficiency, backlog management, and utilization
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple stakeholders and evolving priorities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full FP&A cycle for the Installation & Maintenance segment – annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range plans – while ensuring alignment with corporate financial targets and operating strategies
  • Partner with business unit leaders to provide strategic financial insights on project mix, backlog conversion, utilization, and margin performance
  • Serve as the segment’s financial liaison for Legence corporate, lenders, and investors, providing thoughtful analysis and commentary on financial results and forecast trends
  • Own the consolidated segment forecast, ensuring consistency, challenge, and reconciliation across business unit submissions and corporate expectations
  • Develop forward-looking KPIs that link operational performance with financial outcomes, including including productivity, revenue per technician, utilization, service contract margin, EBITDA margin, and cash flow conversion
  • Lead monthly performance reviews with segment and BU leaders, identifying revenue and cost trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide detailed variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year, translating findings into actionable recommendations for leadership
  • Oversee the creation of dynamic dashboards and reports (Power BI / OneStream) to drive transparency and real-time visibility into project performance
  • Analyze and forecast working capital drivers, including unbilled revenue, billing cadence, DSO, and cash conversion
  • Model financial impact of business initiatives, revenue and cost strategies, and capital investments
  • Partner with Operations and Project Accounting to identify cash flow risks and drive improvements in billing accuracy and timeliness
  • Build robust driver-based forecasting models tied to project pipelines, backlog, and labor utilization
  • Conduct scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of changing market, pricing, and operational assumptions
  • Identify leading indicators for performance improvement and proactively recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets
  • Lead FP&A onboarding for newly acquired companies within the segment –standardizing financial reporting, forecasting cadence, and KPI alignment
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance and IT on ERP and Business Intelligence system deployments; ensure data accuracy, integrity, and comparability across systems
  • Champion continuous process improvement to enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and data transparency
