Finance Manager, GL Accountant
About The Position
We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic Finance Manager to join the Cartwright team. The Finance Manager (GL) will be integral in facilitating and integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of the agency's financial records and reporting. This role oversees the month-end close process, manages general ledger compliance, and ensures all financial reporting aligns with holding company (WPP) standards and deadlines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and combines technical accounting expertise with strong organizational and communication skills.
Requirements
- A financial executive with at least 5+ years of finance experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and consolidation principles
- You have advanced Excel and G-suite skills, and you strive to maximise your efficiency through the use of technology
- Ability to interact with multiple finance individuals across different organizations within the holding company
- Ability to work independently with exceptional initiative and follow through skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working within a holding company structure highly desirable
- Prior experience working with Accountability (Financial ERP) highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Responsible for management of the Cartwright month end close process:
- Owns the full month-end close process, ensuring all costs, revenues, and accruals are accurately reported in compliances with GAAP / IFRS and WPP Policies
- Prepare and submit Flash, Actual, and Intercompany reporting within required deadlines
- Review the general ledger for accuracy and completeness, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Prepare monthly P&L & Balance Sheet analysis, with variance commentary, for review and submission to WPP
- Manage and maintain the fixed assets register, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals
- Oversee prepaid / accrual schedules to ensure proper expense recognition
- Day to day financial operational support (internal budgets, non-billable ap etc)
- SOX Controls and external audit support
- Support Head of Finance in the budgeting / forecasting (FP&A process) including uploading budgets for consolidation
- Support Head of Finance in managing LLC partner distributions (working in conjunction with WPP Tax)
- Coordinate with shared service teams, where applicable.
