About The Position

CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2026 Finance Division Intern . This opportunity will be an in-person, 12-week, paid internship program that provides students with the opportunity to gain corporate experience, get a first-hand look at the day-to-day operations of a Super Regional Insurance Company, and prepare students with the experience needed to have a rewarding career in the Insurance Industry. The Finance Division is looking for students seeking meaningful work experience as they tackle complex challenges unique to the insurance industry. This internship role aims to provide an integrative program that allows students to make meaningful contributions to the department and to walk away with a meaningful experience. In your role, you will support the Finance Division as follows: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Assisting with data consolidation, file optimization, and variance analysis for budgeting/forecasting cycles. Researching planning software solutions for the Enterprise. Conducting research and building reports on key industry financial metrics and macroeconomic trends. Financial Reporting: Supporting the Financial Reporting process, including journal entry preparation and general ledger reconciliations. Build-out of an expanded policyholder financial analysis template; including KPIs, metrics, and other relevant financial datapoints to support the Underwriting process. Internal Audit: Gaining exposure to enterprise risk management and internal control frameworks and testing, including Financial, Operational, Compliance, and IT/Cyber focus areas. Insight into Internal Audit focus areas and methodologies. Other Finance: Gaining exposure to transaction processing, vendor compliance, and financial system inputs.

Requirements

  • A current college undergraduate pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • General understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large datasets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a steadfast commitment to information security and ethical standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Good Interpersonal skills to quickly develop trust, credibility, and respect from all levels of staff.
  • Highly motivated and curious with a strong interest in the insurance industry.
