As a Finance & HR Generalist, you will… play a key role in supporting Aero Sense’s people and financial operations by managing day-to-day HR administration and core finance processes. You will partner closely with leadership to support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, employee relations, and compliance with federal and California labor laws. On the finance side, you will assist with time and labor reports, accounts payable and receivable, expense reporting, budgeting support, and financial recordkeeping. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can balance multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a positive workplace culture while ensuring accurate financial and HR operations that support our aerospace mission. This position reports to the VP, Corporate Controller and the Director of People & Culture located at our St. George headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, and HR administration.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Paylocity Payroll, and Microsoft Office Suite; DBA Manufacturing system experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, payroll regulations, and HR compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in financial processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across HR and Finance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive data.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial systems and records across QuickBooks and DBA Manufacturing.
  • Manage vendor and customer set-ups, obtain approvals, and maintain compliance documentation (W-9s, 1099 assignments, resale exemption certificates).
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reports, cash receipts cash and disbursements and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, post, and reconcile journal entries, fixed assets, depreciation, and other GL accounts.
  • Perform bank-related functions including reconciliations, ACH/wire requests, desktop deposits, and credit card program oversight.
  • Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings (sales/use tax, property tax, corporate filings, and business licenses).
  • Support audit preparation and compliance requirements.
  • Manage employee records and payroll set-up in Paylocity, including taxes and benefits.
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Verify payroll tax filings.
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Support ongoing payroll and HRIS system access and updates.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts, including posting job openings and assisting in candidate selection.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation (pre-hire documentation, I-9 verification, day-one setup, badges, and system access).
  • Support employee relations, HR policies, and HR administrative tasks.
  • Oversee offboarding processes, including final payroll, benefits termination, and exit documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal employment laws and best practices.
  • Manage vendor relationships for utilities, cleaning services, and real estate leases, etc.
  • Support contract handoffs and continuity of essential services.
