About The Position

As the Finance Director, Automotive Coatings Americas, you will lead all financial management, reporting, and planning activities for a regional business and serve as strategic partner to the Automotive Coatings Americas leadership team. You will report directly to the Global Finance Director, Automotive Coatings and work closely with the Vice President, Americas, Automotive Coatings and the broader regional leadership team. You will work a hybrid work schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote from our Pittsburgh, PA office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with an MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in finance
  • Proven success in setting strategic direction, building and developing teams, influencing senior leaders, and delivering measurable results.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex, matrixed, global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership & Business Partnership Manage all regional financial activities, including monthly closing, forecasting, reporting, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Lead commercial financial support, including pricing/index pricing analysis, commercial deal evaluation, and business case development.
  • Be a strategic advisor to regional leadership, contributing financial insight to support organic growth, margin expansion, and operational performance.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development Lead and develop a regional finance organization of 13 team members, including 5 direct reports.
  • Promote engagement, accountability, and high performance across the team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, analytical rigor, and business partnership.
  • Process Excellence and Productivity Identify, lead, and execute process improvement and productivity initiatives across the region.
  • Oversee the productivity funnel process, including overhead cost reduction efforts and any ongoing restructuring activities.
  • Ensure internal controls and compliance with PPG global accounting policies and standards.
  • Systems, Tools, and Digital Enablement Support the implementation and adoption of global systems, including Anaplan and PPG SAP Central Finance (CFIN).
  • Champion the use of digital tools and latest technologies—such as AI—to enhance reporting, forecasting, and productivity.
  • Performance Management Improve performance through ad‑hoc analysis and insights across the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Provide focused leadership on working capital, particularly Accounts Receivable and Inventory.
