About The Position
The University of Virginia’s Department of Facilities Management is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Finance Associate to support financial operations for a diverse and mission‑driven organization. In this role, you will serve as a key partner in monitoring financial performance, analyzing data across major operational programs, and ensuring the accuracy of transactions in UVA’s financial and project management systems. Responsibilities
- Analyze financial activity across funds, projects, and programs, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, and alignment with University and departmental policy.
- Monitor financial performance by reviewing account balances, identifying variances or anomalies, and providing insights to support operational decisions.
- Perform corrections and adjustments within the University’s financial systems, maintaining a high standard of data integrity.
- Develop and maintain financial records and documentation to support internal controls and audit requirements.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and financial analyses that support leadership decision‑making and operational planning.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot accounting issues, streamline processes, and recommend workflow improvements.
- Participate in training sessions and regular meetings to stay current on evolving policies, procedures, and financial system enhancements.
- Other duties may be assigned to support the mission of Facilities Management.
