About The Position

The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. The Finance and Accounting Intern will be responsible for supporting the objectives of the Finance organization at The Kinetic Group. This will be a unique opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within an industry finance team. They will have the opportunity to work with and assist in the execution of special projects for finance and accounting. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone that is in an accounting or finance degree but not yet sure what types of roles they are looking for out of college. The intern will also enhance their systems knowledge with the development and execution of reporting related projects to meet the company’s growing needs. This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and is based out of our Anoka office.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of accounting and finance
  • Analytical and data modeling skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable interacting with other operations departments
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn (self-starter).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to commit to a schedule and work 40 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis that drive daily business decisions
  • Ability to analyze cost variances and recommend improvements
  • Be a business partner to our operations team leads
  • Establish effective relationships with Finance personnel.
  • Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed-upon project milestones
  • Develop an understanding of operations impacts a financial forecast and learn the basics of cost accounting
  • Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with seasoned professionals
