A DAY IN THE LIFE: As a Finance Analyst III , you'll support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, including forecasting, reporting, and financial performance analysis. You’ll work across multiple programs and departments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial insights that drive business decisions. From analyzing variances to supporting program financials, you’ll play a key role in improving forecast accuracy and enhancing financial visibility across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or program finance.
  • Proven expertise in at least two or more of the following: Financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Program finance support, including EACs and profitability analysis.
  • ERP/MRP systems and financial data management.
  • Data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or similar).
  • Cross-functional financial planning within manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, DCAA compliance, and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts and tools (e.g., Cobra, MS Project) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Financial Forecasting & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models, support monthly and quarterly forecasts, and analyze actuals vs. forecast to identify key business drivers.
  • Perform Variance & Trend Analysis: Monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and provide clear, data-driven commentary with actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with Program Management: Support program financials, including tracking performance, assisting with Estimates at Completion (EACs), monitoring cost/schedule performance, and evaluating profitability.
  • Own Reporting Deliverables: Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with Accounting, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Business Development to ensure alignment between financial forecasts and operational plans.
  • Support Month-End Close Activities: Assist Accounting during close cycles by providing analysis, accrual support, and explanations for financial results.
  • Track Cash Flow & Commitments: Monitor project commitments, invoicing schedules, and cash receipts/disbursements to support short- and long-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Analyze Cost Drivers: Evaluate labor, material, and overhead costs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Integrate Business Pipeline: Partner with Business Development to incorporate new awards, backlog, and pipeline updates into rolling forecasts.
  • Enhance Reporting & Processes: Identify opportunities to streamline FP&A processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Support Audit & Compliance Efforts: Assist in preparing financial data and documentation for internal and external audits as needed.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute to initiatives that improve forecasting accuracy, financial visibility, and overall FP&A effectiveness.
