This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking a collaborative, team player who is forward-thinking and curious about the intersection of finance and technology to join our Finance BI team in Kent, WA. We are building the next generation of finance capabilities by combining finance, data, and emerging technologies such as AI. As a Finance BI Analyst, you will help design and build the data and analytics capabilities that power financial insights, planning, and decision-making. This role sits at the interaction of finance and analytics, and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, automating workflows, and experimenting with new technologies. You will partner closely with finance leaders, data platform leads, and business stakeholders to develop scalable solutions that modernize how finance operations. This is a high-ownership role with the opportunity to shape how finance leverages data, analytics, and AI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, or a related data-focused role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience with Python or scripting languages used for data analysis or automation.
  • Experience building data transformations, analytics datasets, or reporting data models.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve analytical problems and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with financials, operational, or ERP data.
  • Familiarity with analytics engineering tools or frameworks.
  • Interest or experience with AI, automation, or machine learning applications in analytics.
  • Experience improving or automating data workflows, reporting pipelines, or analytics processes.
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to explore new technologies that improve analytics and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Build Finance Analytics Data Solutions Develop analytics-ready datasets that support financial reporting, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
  • Design and implement data transformations within the enterprise data platform to create scalable finance data models.
  • Structure and maintain datasets used by BI analysts, finance teams, and leadership dashboards.
  • Automate Finance Analytics Workflows Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting and analysis through automation.
  • Develop scripts, pipelines, or workflows that streamline recurring financial reporting and analytics processes.
  • Improve the performance and reliability of finance data pipelines and analytics assets.
  • Explore and Apply AI in Finance Analytics Experiment with AI-enabled analytics capabilities such as automate capabilities, natural language data access, and workflow automation.
  • Prototype solutions that leverage emerging technologies to improve finance productivity and decision-making.
  • Partner Across Finance and Technology Collaborate with Finance teams to translate business questions into data and analytics solutions.
  • Work closely with enterprise data and platform teams to ensure finance data structures align with broader data architecture.
  • Contribute to improving the accessibility, quality and governance of finance data.
