The Finance, Accounting and Reporting (FAR) Special Projects supervisor is responsible for supporting and maintaining accounting for new processes associated with mergers, acquisitions, disposal (M&A) transactions, or other special projects that may be assigned as part of a new project. He/She monitors and assists in accounting processes and prepares consolidated financial analysis, reports, account reconciliations, and journal entries. They may also aid in the preparation and review of project plans, budget and forecasts, financial analysis. He/She may review and assess financial data, perform variance analysis on financial information, periodically research and document accounting treatment of transactions based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), local accounting requirements, perform related accounting internal controls and processes, assist in disclosure requirements, and other project management organizational tasks. These tasks include working indirectly with others, cross-functionally, across a global team, and with team members both internally and external to UPS.
