About The Position

LegalEASE is seeking an experienced Finance Accounting Manager to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and serve as a key partner to the Controller. In this highly visible role, you will lead a small accounting team, ensure accurate financial reporting, support close processes, and help drive process improvements and internal controls across the department. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience managing or leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written communication and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance personnel.
  • Proactive, reliable, and solutions‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with executive leadership and team members.
  • Core proficiency with Excel, Word, PDFs, and structured data documents.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience in a growing or multi‑entity environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP or mid‑market accounting systems.
  • CPA designation in progress or interest in pursuing CPA.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee routine accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Manage timely and accurate month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, financial schedules, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately four accounting staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, high‑performing team culture.
  • Drive best practices, internal control improvements, and process efficiency.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners and communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
