  • Humble & Hungry: Eager to learn and not afraid of "grunt work" (filing, data cleanup), understanding its value to the big picture.
  • Analytical: Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot patterns and discrepancies in data.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in Excel; ability to quickly learn and utilize new software and database systems.
  • Actively participate in the life of Menlo Church, this includes activities like attending services, gifting, joining a small group, and serving in ministry.
  • Possess a strong and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating a commitment to serving God through our church community.
  • Hold compatible theological beliefs in alignment with the essential tenets of ECO, as outlined on their website (https://eco-pres.org/).
  • Be actively involved in a community of believers who can provide support, encouragement, and accountability in your walk with Christ.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Transparency: Assist the Finance Director in redesigning key financial reports to increase clarity and transparency for non-financial staff and leadership.
  • Congregant Connection: Lead a project to refine how we connect with new congregants and givers, ensuring they are successfully integrated into the various ministries across Menlo.
  • Volunteer Leadership: Assist in the launch and onboarding of a brand-new Stewardship Volunteer Team, helping to build the operational structure for this ministry group.
  • Record Cleanup: Undertake the essential work of auditing and cleaning up older historical financial records to ensure our database is accurate and ready for future growth.

Benefits

  • Mentorship: Work directly under the Finance Director, gaining invaluable insight into the financial operations of a large organization.
  • Impact: Your work will directly affect how we steward our resources and how effectively we welcome new people into our community.
  • Versatility: You will leave with a resume demonstrating both hard technical skills (finance/data) and essential soft leadership skills (volunteer management/process improvement).
