About The Position

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Final Inspector you will perform assembly tasks in the final stage of the product prior to shipment. Assembly tasks such as mounting guards, kitting accessories, paint touch-up, and verification of processes to ensure that products meet quality and design requirements.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in quality function
  • Mechanically inclined
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to welding/fabrication/assembly operation
  • Proficiency in working within computerized manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
  • Ensure proper and effective operation of equipment and tools. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.
  • Inspects all parts are correct and match assigned ticket prior to shipment.
  • Perform measurements and record results as well as visual inspections and product configuration verification.
  • Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects.
  • Contribute to the identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions for quality issues that arise.
  • Complete light maintenance on tools, equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of the work performed.
  • Perform assembly functions requiring a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work orders and complex specifications.
  • Computer literate utilizing proprietary manufacturing and quality systems to document work performed for record keeping.
  • Utilize small tools such as grinders to remove scratches, excess weld material and burs.
  • Desire to do the right thing
  • Team player, aiding other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position
  • Punctual, on time, ready to work, every day
