The Final Detail Inspector is a critical role responsible for ensuring every completed boat meets Freeman’s rigorous quality standards. This position plays a pivotal role in upholding our reputation for excellence and ensuring every customer receives a boat that reflects the highest level of craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • Electrical background and troubleshooting skills (DC and AC electrical systems)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical ability
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in inspection tools and report documentation
  • Familiarity with boat systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of marine industry safety and quality standards
  • Independent and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds during inspections.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally on-site at marinas.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to troubleshoot fuel and/or electronic systems for Mercury and Yamaha

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of completed boats to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Verify all systems, finishes, and details meet design, operational, and aesthetic benchmarks.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed inspection reports to the EVP, documenting pass/fail results and identified deficiencies.
  • Maintain a log of recurring issues for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality protocols and relevant industry standards.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and best practices in boat manufacturing quality.
  • Communicate quality issues and provide actionable feedback to production teams.
  • Partner with the EVP to develop and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Serve as the final authority to approve or reject boats for delivery, with an impartial and thorough approach.
