We are Dover Precision Components, #LifeAtDPC SUMMARY: Assembles fabricated parts.  Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.  Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications and work instructions.  Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.  Final inspection of parts for quality.  Under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with some experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.
  • Ability to communicate to groups of people, managers, vendors, customers, co-workers and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, and electronic and pneumatic tooling.
  • Report defective products or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per preventative maintenance.
  • Follow work instructions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and assemble product from blueprint.
  • Final inspector for all parts; test, check quality and proper dimensions.
  • Pre-package products for shipments.
  • Log jobs into system.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to work at speed and production numbers with a minimum of errors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
