About The Position

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily Day Shift operations in our Final Assembly Department, ensuring instruments are built safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role guides department employees, coordinates workflow, enforces safety, and drives continuous improvement in productivity and performance. Qualified candidates will have proven people leadership experience, 8–10 years in Final Assembly, hands-on experience building or repairing stringed instruments, or other related manufacturing leadership experience. . Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Eight to ten years of same or directly related experience pertaining to specific department functions (Final Assembly of acoustic, electric, and hybrid instruments); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience building or repairing stringed instruments with In-depth knowledge and working understanding of cause and effect of various defects.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises day-to-day production activities to meet schedules, output targets, and quality standards.
  • Assigns tasks, monitors workflow, and adjusts staffing/resources as needed.
  • Mentors staff and enforces company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates performance of department employees and makes recommendations to the department manager regarding pay increases, reprimands, terminations or other personnel matters.
  • Works with department manager and Human Resources, as needed, to resolve employee upsets and/or conflicts.
  • Oversees training of new employees in the methods and responsibilities of the department production.
  • Ensures appropriate training, certifications and recertifications are obtained for all department employees.
  • Maintains and approves timesheets and time off requests of department employees.
  • Promotes a positive work environment with strong communication and teamwork.
  • Conducts shift meetings, and resolves operational or personnel issues.
  • Ensures adherence to quality control standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures timely delivery of daily production to subsequent department(s).
  • Conducts product inspections and documentation reviews.
  • Addresses non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Promotes a culture of safety; enforces safety protocols and ensures compliance with company safety practices.
  • Supports preventive maintenance and ensure clean, organized work areas.
  • Participates in new product or LTD releases and communicates information to their teams.
  • Identifies and addresses potential issues with materials and/or shortages in their areas.
  • Promotes and participates in continuous improvement projects.
  • Inspects finished departmental products.
  • Certified to operate all machinery within the department.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all departmental processes and is fully equipped to carry them out as circumstances demand.
