As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, individuals will work on real projects, contribute to meaningful work, and build skills within a collaborative culture over two full semesters. The program is designed for curious, driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology, providing an environment for learning and growth. The Academic Year Internship Program runs from September 21, 2026, to April 23, 2027, requiring a time commitment of 16-24 hours per week. The exact schedule will be determined based on business need, with efforts made to accommodate course schedules. All opportunities listed require interns to work from Universal City, CA. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the sales and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in over 200 territories across the globe. This includes a rich library of more than 6,000 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, encompassing current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming, and locally produced content from around the world.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales and consumer data to discover insights and provide recommendations on product, promotion, and marketing strategies, and review partner platforms and develop insights on trends and business opportunities (Digital Distribution).
  • Support the team that works to ensure that transactional digital Film and TV content is released on time and accurately on a global basis (Global Business Operations).
  • Work with data through the front-end of applications as directed and prepare data for programmatic updating working interactively with Technology teams (Information Systems Services).
  • Support the team responsible for the sales and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in over 200 territories across the globe (International Digital Media).
  • Help log all incoming agreements & amendments, prepare and distribute internal sales reports, and assist in processing orders for content (Sales Administration).
  • Support the various teams in the department by reviewing deal terms, running availability reports and various data sets. Manage long term deals with product notices once deals are close. Liaise with clients and Sales team with all aspects of managing TV output deals for several designated territories (Sales Planning).
  • Partner with sales, finance, legal, operations and senior management to support deal negotiations, commercial analytics, and projects focused on licensing SVOD and AVOD businesses (Sales Strategy).
