Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on providing fast, friendly service.
  • Assist customers with product suggestions and respond to inquiries.
  • Engage in suggestive selling through telephone, intercom announcements, and one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly; resolve customer issues professionally and escalate to the Store Director as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of responsibility for all storewide pricing and related documentation.
  • Hang all tags and signs for advertised specials, price changes, and promotional events.
  • Complete resets, including new item set‑ups, refreshes, subscription tags, and general tag replacements.
  • Organize price changes by department and aisle; sort and place tags and signs throughout the store.
  • Conduct scan audits to verify accuracy and ensure proper placement of tags and signs.
  • Replace missing or damaged tags promptly and report discrepancies.
  • Manage in‑store markdown links in accordance with Division policy.
  • Research, report, and correct questionable pricing items; monitor not‑on‑file items and report to Division Backstage.
  • Maintain pricing integrity across the store and ensure correct placement of price‑accuracy guarantee signage.
  • Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness in compliance with division directives.
  • Stock, rotate, and maintain product using proper procedures and knowledge of store layout.
  • Ensure proper code‑dating on all department products.
  • Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly, in‑stock conditions in the back room and Dairy Department areas.
  • Assist with physical inventory twice yearly.
  • Control shrink and manage departmental costs effectively.
  • Implement proper product preparation and handling techniques.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines.
  • Operate computer software and electronic scanning devices to complete price changes, research, and ordering tasks.
  • Implement emergency procedures during equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Ensure product temperature, storage, and labeling comply with retail laws, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders against invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
  • Follow temperature guidelines, proper storage methods, and correct packaging procedures.
  • Complete, maintain, and monitor required documentation such as daily log sheets, sales and labor reports, pricing records, and other departmental logs.
  • Maintain accurate administrative paperwork and compliance records.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, coolers, and display areas.
  • Follow all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Comply with company grooming standards and dress code.
  • Perform all duties with safety, accuracy, honesty, and integrity.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.
