This role blends creative execution with strategic coaching, ensuring that every store delivers an elevated, on-brand consumer experience. Spending the majority of time in stores, this leader champions visual merchandising standards, drives campaign execution, and builds team capability. Partnering closely with Store Managers, District Managers, and Regional Visual Merchandising teams, the Field VM Manager ensures that global and regional strategies are translated into compelling, localized execution that fuels consumer engagement and commercial success. Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. Lead Visual Execution Across Retail Stores: Travel extensively (4+ days/week) to retail locations to implement seasonal floor sets, windows, and brand campaigns, adapting directives to store-specific layouts and inventory levels. Coach Store Leaders in Visual Excellence: Train and mentor Store Managers and in-store teams on visual merchandising principles, directive interpretation, and campaign storytelling to build long-term capability and consistency. Partner with Field Leadership: Collaborate with District Managers to align visual execution with business goals, ensuring stores deliver a cohesive and elevated brand experience. Drive Brand Presentation: Ensure each brand’s identity is reflected through thoughtful product placement, fixture usage, and visual storytelling that resonates with customers. Support Key Retail Initiatives: Lead visual merchandising efforts for store openings, remodels, and high-priority activations, setting the standard for brand presentation and execution. Provide Real-Time Feedback and Support: Offer immediate coaching and feedback during store visits, helping teams make adjustments and improve execution on the spot. Document and Share Insights: Capture high-quality visuals of completed setups, document compliance, and share trends and insights with cross-functional partners to inform future planning. Multi-Brand Expertise: Flex across Vans, TNF, and Timberland retail environments, adapting to diverse aesthetics and merchandising strategies while maintaining brand integrity. Field Leadership and Influence: Serve as a key liaison between marketing and store teams, ensuring directives are clearly understood, effectively implemented, and continuously improved. What do you need to succeed? We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 4+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail operations, or brand presentation, especially in multi-brand or multi-store environments.
