About The Position

ARM Group LLC is seeking a Field Technician for our Geotechnical & Construction Testing practice area. A Field Technician you will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and scientists, project managers, and other staff to provide a wide range of field-based observation and testing services during the study, implementation, and/or construction phases of projects in a variety of industries. The Field Technician should have the desire and ability to travel and support a wide range of projects throughout our service area. Locations: This position can be filled in our Jessup, PA office.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Drivers License in good standing.
• Ability to travel to and from job sites, including potentially overnight stay.
• Team oriented with the ability to perform independent hands-on fieldwork.
• A self-starter possessing strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction quality assurance / construction quality control field inspections.
• Conduct material laboratory quality control testing.
• Perform density testing, and observation of soil placement.
• Perform field testing of concrete, soil/aggregate/bituminous paving materials.
• Monitoring subsurface investigations including exploratory borings, geoprobing, and environmental sampling.
• Monitor foundation/geotechnical and related construction activities.
• Prepare daily field reports and test summaries documenting the work being performed in a timely fashion.
• Effectively communicate with key stake holders including project managers, project engineers, contractors and others depending on the project and job tasks.
