About The Position

The Field Technician, Levelland Midstream is responsible for operational, mechanical, and instrument/electrical functions, such as inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This work includes such activities as supervising/directing field crews, maintaining pipelines in compliance with contracts, regulations, and safety considerations, coordinating with on-site contractors, and ensuring cost effective and safe operations. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 1 or more years of experience in oil and gas operations and/or maintenance
  • Willing and able to travel up to 35% of the time
  • Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Exert pulling force of up to 130 pounds
  • Regularly stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch for durations up to 30 minutes
  • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
  • Work inside plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
  • Work in loud environment
  • Periodically pulls/pushes doors open
  • Occasionally climb A-frame ladders

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Tech school program
  • Work experience in Pipeline maintenance or operation and natural gas compression
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logic system
  • Knowledge of VFD drives
  • Trouble shooting electrical problems on 480Vac 3 phase systems
  • Reading manufacturer specifications or blueprints to assemble or disassemble complex systems
  • Repairing and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of liquid handling systems, and operation of dehydration systems
  • Conduct pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc.
  • Perform Startup, Shutdown, and operation of gas compression equipment
  • Perform and provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment
  • Perform planned maintenance checks and calibration
  • Read and understand P&ID's
  • Maintain I&E skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training
  • Maintain pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures
  • Maintain One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & crossing
  • Maintain records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirements
  • Conduct routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (meter tube/plates, ultrasonic meter, flow computer)
  • Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Conduct routine inspection, including on transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, etc.
  • Operate PLC, HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves and actuators
  • Maintain and repair motor control equipment
