About The Position

Are you a qualified Auto Technician who is looking to utilize your knowledge and experience assisting others with difficult repairs? The Field Technical Specialist will provide skilled consulting and hands-on diagnostics to Toyota and Lexus dealer service teams and administer the “Fix It Right the First Time” process to improve customer satisfaction, increase ownership experience, and reduce and prevent unnecessary buy backs. The position will also review Dealer Product reports and prepare Field Technical reports for the manufacturer. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Auto Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Master Technician ASE Certification
  • State Mechanic’s License
  • Minimum five years of dealership Master Auto Technician work experience
  • Advance automotive diagnostic skills
  • Understanding of effective training methods
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to type a minimum of 20 wpm
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Must be a team player able to build relationships
  • Methodical, analytical, problem solver who is organized and able to multi-task
  • Must be a lifelong learner hungry to keep up with the rapidly changing industry technology

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive distributor field operations and/or automotive dealership management work experience in parts and/or service preferred
  • Manufacturer Automotive Technical Training Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Attend all required technical training for Toyota and Lexus products
  • Provide support to dealers on all escalated Technical Assistance (TAS) cases
  • Provide accurate judgement on repair or replacement which will help dealers avoid “Lemon Law” cases
  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with manufacturer and dealers to resolve technical issues
  • Complete technical reporting accurately and on a timely basis
  • Maintain and organize all technical information in an efficient and effective format
  • Provide necessary training and coaching to dealers to improve dealer product reports
  • Implement improved methods to disseminate technical information to dealers in an efficient and effective way via
