About The Position

The Field Superintendent will work within the Construction Management Department and will report directly to the Project Superintendent and Construction Manager. This role will work closely with other Field Superintendents, Superintendents, and subcontractors. The Field Superintendent will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, including supervision of the project team, scheduling, quality control, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role will also supervise multiple subcontractors performing extensive fast-tracked scope on large, high-tech buildings. This position is fully onsite at the project location in the Northern Texas region.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of construction
  • Experience organizing technical data accurately; familiarity with CSI specification system
  • Ability to work closely with trade and craft professionals in field environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patience and professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while handling interruptions and urgent requests
  • Training in design/construction document reading, specifications, and survey techniques
  • Strong visual observation and interpretation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with project owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Self-starter with flexibility and ability to work with minimal instruction
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Must be able to access all areas of a construction site
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate extended hours or off-shift work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Bluebeam
  • Experience with project management software (Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks)
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction experience required
  • Background in construction materials and methods
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Experience with large industrial and high-tech fabrication projects
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; work in confined spaces
  • Frequent use of hands, arms, and machinery; operation of office and field equipment
  • Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Must be able to safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work near loud equipment and wear hearing protection as needed
  • Regular communication required in both office and job site environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move materials as needed
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Ability to use independent judgment, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills to achieve results

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities with other superintendents, field superintendents, and subcontractors
  • Supervise multiple subcontractors and craft employees
  • Maintain and adjust the project schedule daily
  • Manage and enforce all safety protocols
  • Provide resolution to design and constructability issues
  • Respond to client requests and issues; develop solutions using technical expertise
  • Interpret and implement installations in compliance with local permitting, codes, and site specifications
  • Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates
  • Facilitate contractor activity and ensure performance aligns with contractual agreements
  • Assist with project staffing management
  • Communicate clearly (verbal, written, and electronic)
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
