About The Position

We are looking for a talented individual... To join our team as Field Specialist. In this role you will deliver residential energy assessments and support energy retrofit projects for customers in Clackamas County, Oregon. This role combines technical expertise with customer service to implement innovative, equity-focused energy efficiency programs. You will conduct in-home energy audits, verify installation quality, and guide customers through upgrade opportunities. Additional responsibilities include contractor coordination, reporting, and occasional outreach to generate leads and promote program participation. Ideal candidates have experience in home inspections or energy efficiency upgrades, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. You will also display a passion for accelerating the adoption of residential energy efficiency upgrades for customers experiencing lower-income, rural, and communities of color. This is a remote position. Ideal candidates live in the Portland Metro Region.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience in home inspections, energy efficiency upgrades, in-home customer work, or technical background.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle interruptions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
  • Flexible to occasionally work evenings and weekends for events.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Located in the Portland Metro Region.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of residential energy efficiency, building science, HVAC systems, and weatherization best practices (preferred).
  • BPI certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct home energy audits and quality assurance inspections
  • Communicate with customers in both languages via email, phone, and reports to address program inquiries.
  • Guide customers through energy efficiency upgrade opportunities.
  • Act as the local program representative, building trusted relationships with customers.
  • Support contractors to ensure installations meet program requirements and specifications.
  • Maintain ongoing customer communication to assess needs and gather feedback.
  • Prepare reports and document interactions for management and clients.
  • Collect customer feedback to inform program improvements and equity-focused initiatives.
