We’re searching for a detail-oriented Field Services Technician I to join our team in Reading, PA In this role, you’ll support the accurate and timely movement of environmental samples by performing sample pickups and deliveries, basic field sampling activities, and in-house sample triage. Your work helps ensure sample integrity, regulatory compliance, and smooth coordination between field operations and laboratory teams.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for extended periods throughout the workday in varying weather conditions and terrain
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and driving
  • Regular exposure to environmental elements, chemicals, and strong or unpleasant odors (e.g., wastewater or industrial materials)

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training in a related technical field strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in field services, environmental sampling, logistics, delivery services, or relevant operational role

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver environmental samples from client sites following assigned routes and schedules
  • Maintain proper sample custody and integrity during transport to meet holding time and quality requirements
  • Perform basic sample collection and routine field measurements, including pH and chlorine testing, as assigned
  • Complete chain-of-custody documentation and required field records accurately and thoroughly
  • Perform in-house sample triage, including verification of containers, preservation, labeling, and documentation
  • Prepare, stage, and replenish sample kits, coolers, and field supplies
  • Enter route, sample, and activity information into applicable systems or mobile applications
  • Interact professionally with clients during sample pickups and routine field activities
  • Support laboratory and field teams as needed to meet turnaround times and client commitments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
