About The Position

The Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group is seeking a Full Time Field Service Technician in the Richmond, VA area. This role involves training on and servicing key duplicating (Minute Key), tag engraving (Quick Tag) kiosks, as well as providing 3rd party service for systems like Eco-ATM and Pokémon. The technician will manage a territory consisting of over 70 kiosks, working approximately 40 hours per week. Compensation is typically $24-25 an hour, based on experience. The company provides a car allowance or company car, cell-phone reimbursement, and a corporate gas card for business miles. Employees are expected to actively participate in safety and health program activities, including reporting hazards and incidents, wearing required personal protective equipment, and supporting safety committee initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to always represent Hillman professionally
  • Ability to work weekends when required
  • Must have an excellent driving record with a valid driver's license. Clean driving record is mandatory. Major driving violations will eliminate potential candidates.
  • Must have reliable transportation with automobile insurance (mileage reimbursement)
  • Must have a reliable cell phone (reimbursed)
  • Function vision and hearing required.
  • Hand/eye coordination required.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations and customer service.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar profile.
  • Experience with tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems.
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English to include technical “jargon”.

Responsibilities

  • Re-stock and perform routine service on kiosks as needed (determined by demand at the machine, or schedule).
  • Perform on-call repairs or adjustments to the machine when the machine goes out of order.
  • New kiosk Installations or swap newer kiosks of machines in the local area.
  • Monitor machines in territory daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power issues.
  • Keep track of inventory for re-stocking machines that are in Kiosk Tech’s possession.
  • Grow revenue in territory by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, store relationships, etc.
