About The Position

The company is seeking a Field Service Technician to service customers in the Cedar Park, TX, and surrounding areas within its Municipal Division. This role involves the installation, service, and maintenance of water purification equipment, utilizing a company service vehicle. Equipment-specific training will be provided, and previous technical/mechanical/plumbing experience is encouraged. The position typically involves general day shift hours with opportunities for overtime and a compensated on-call rotation, including occasional afternoons and weekends. Xylem's products impact public utilities, industrial sectors, residential areas, and commercial buildings, focusing on smart metering, network technologies, and advanced analytics for water, electric, and gas utilities. Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain TWIC card
  • One year of work experience preferred
  • 0-2 years technical experience
  • Experience with Microsoft office including smart devices
  • Must have customer service experience
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and trouble shooting ability
  • Able to operate company service vehicle safely
  • Able to pass background check & pre-employment drug screen

  • Previous technical/mechanical/plumbing experience

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains safe working environment and cultures within the organization
  • Takes care of company property
  • Trouble shoots systems for mechanical electrical equipment conditions
  • Identify and remedy safety issues for both Company and Customer owned equipment
  • Direct interfacing with customers
  • Potentially at multiple sites with multiple technologies
