The Opportunity As our Seasonal Field Service Technician, you will report to the Account Manager to maintain and service all JBT Marel chemical systems and machinery in customer fresh fruit packing facilities on a routine basis to ensure that they are functioning and are in good repair as determined by management. This position requires professional and positive customer interaction. This position is a Seasonal position from approximately October to May each year.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working on industrial machinery
Basic mechanical skills and ability to read blue prints.
Ability to use a computer.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to work out of town, out of state and overnight as required
Availability for extended hours, especially during the processing season (ex. work 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week)
Must be able to work variable schedules (mornings, afternoons, nights) and weekends as required.
Ability to work in various conditions, including indoor/outdoor weather, moving industrial machinery, chemicals and fumes, noisy or dusty environments.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, squat and step up/down for various amounts of time and paces.
Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Capability to lift, push, pull and move materials, typically up to 50 pounds.
Hand Use: Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling equipment and performing tasks.
Good visibility for inspecting equipment and monitoring operations.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Mixing and testing chemicals in the field to verify proper dilution and effectiveness
Develop relationships with personnel and management
Maintain proper records of chemical use to ensure machinery down time is kept to a minimum
Be responsible for inventory cost control and summer repair parts list
Maintain proper inventory of leased machinery parts and chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time and customer complaints are kept to a minimum
Work with Technical Service to ensure application of JBT chemicals
Complete checklists and fill in delivery logbooks for JBT requirements and food safety documentation
The ability to fabricate, assemble and install Leased Machinery systems.
Basic mechanical skills to maintain and troubleshoot equipment issues are required.
Repair and maintain chemical systems and machinery in customer fresh fruit packing facilities.
Travel between fresh fruit packing facilities throughout the San Joaquin Valley
