About The Position

SAIC is looking for an experienced, energetic, and motivated Field Service Technician to join our Land Border Integration team in the San Diego area. As a Field Service Technician working for SAIC you will have a fast moving, challenging, and highly rewarding position keeping the infrastructure running that helps Customs and Border Protection keep our borders safe.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections at Ports of Entry on deployed equipment, including but not limited to License Plate Reader (LPR) equipment, RFID, network/power, signage, and communication devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify root causes and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Install new equipment and systems according to specifications and SOPs provided by SAIC deployment management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate equipment upgrades, replacements, and enhancements.
  • Adhere to all CBP and SAIC IT Security, physical security, and operations security policies.
  • Document accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repair histories, and inventory levels.
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as OSHA and local regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks at Ports of Entry.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and provide on-call support as needed during business hours Monday-Friday.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with Customs and Border Protection personnel, Border Patrol, vendors, and the traveling public.
