As a Field Service Technician based in the San Diego, CA Service Center, the role involves bringing the lab to the field. This includes collecting samples, operating equipment, and executing protocols accurately to deliver reliable results from the source. The technician will work independently, solve problems on the fly, and adapt to changing conditions with confidence. The compensation range for this role is $20 to $24, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
  • Must be a US citizen (government Contract work)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ISCO 24-hr compositors is a plus
  • Knowledge of Total Coliform Rule sampling criteria is a plus
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and positive attitude
  • Able to interact with clients in a professional way
  • Detailed oriented and able to multi task
  • Able to communicate effectively with the lab in a timely manner
  • Able to meet flexible schedule and work overtime as necessary
  • Able to work independently but contribute equally in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for field sampling, delivery of sample containers and pick up of environmental samples
  • Works with field coordinator to determine the best route to minimize travel time and maximize total of jobs
  • Prepares proper containers and calibrates field parameters prior to each field sampling project
  • Performs on-site field sampling following safe and proper field sampling techniques
  • Performs field measurements: pH, chlorine residual, temperature, etc.
  • Properly fills out chain-of-custodies and follows sample acceptance procedures
  • Handles and drives the company vehicle in a responsible and legal manner
  • Schedule routine maintenance of assigned company vehicle
  • Adheres to company Ethics Policy and Quality Assurance Manual
  • Assists with the repair of field equipment including ISCO compositors and field meters
  • Assists with sample login as needed
  • Participates in focus teams as needed
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the department manager
