Role Summary: The Field Service Technician will travel to customer locations within 30 miles, very infrequently farther, to troubleshoot and repair all Flowserve Control Valve Unit products (valves, actuators and instrumentation) and solicit the sale and installation of spare parts. Our customers rely upon and consider the technician as a knowledgeable control valve resource. Technicians may be asked to repair, and overhaul competitor’s valves as needed. Responsibilities: Make direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests. Troubleshooting and repairing equipment in the field. The equipment will primarily consist of Flowserve Control Valve products but may also include control valve products of other manufacturers. Advise plant personnel on correct maintenance and operating procedures Provide both the company and the client an accurate record of work performed, and actions taken, with conclusions and recommendations as required. Check all equipment after installation and prior to startup of valves and associated equipment within the allotted time and in a professional manner, assuring that all customers’ problems are handled with a minimum delay. Write clear, concise daily reports to keep customer and manager apprised of job progress. Maintain accurate job paperwork, monitor time and materials charged to each job. Conduct required onsite safety training and requirements, complete JSEA prior to work performed, and maintain a safe work site. Perform valve walkdowns at customer facilities for large outage preplanning. Identify and attend training to develop personal knowledge and skills. Report to Manager for assignment in repair shop when no field service work is available and assist assembly department Provide technical support to customers whether emailed or phoned. Assist the engineering department with failure evaluations. Conduct diagnostic testing on control valves and interpret the results. Testing can be via SoftTools, Profiler, ValveSight, FAST Test, or StarTalk XP software. Proficient with HART, MODBUS and Foundation Fieldbus digital communication protocols. Maintain the highest standard of service to customers.
