As a Field Service Technician, you'll be at the forefront of our service commitment, representing Arnold Machinery in the field and helping us uphold our strong reputation through expert repair and maintenance of material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of internal combustion engines
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; other Microsoft Office programs a plus
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to operate standard office equipment (fax, copier, computer, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Communicate effectively in English-both verbally and in writing-with customers, dispatchers, peers, and supervisors
  • Drive to customer sites to perform repairs and routine maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, review schematics, and assess repair requirements
  • Determine when additional assistance is needed based on safety or job complexity
  • Utilize tools such as multimeters, laptops, and service manuals
  • Commit to ongoing training and education through Arnold Machinery and vendor programs
  • Maintain personal tool inventory and bring tools to the job
  • Arrive at scheduled jobs on time
  • Practice and uphold Arnold Machinery's core values: Integrity, Discipline, Empathy
  • Thank customers after service and confirm their satisfaction
  • Support the Service Manager with administrative or operational tasks
  • Keep your service truck and workspace clean and organized
  • Walk on uneven surfaces frequently
  • Lift and carry items over 50 lbs regularly
  • Operate hand and power tools
  • Climb on and off equipment
  • Bend, kneel, stand, and reach during repairs
  • Sit in vehicles and lie in prone positions under equipment
  • Read work orders, manuals, and parts lists
  • Communicate effectively via radio, phone, and in person
  • Hear mechanical issues and surrounding environmental sounds for safety
