Field Service Technician IV

About The Position

The associate in this position will be responsible for performing mechanical service including inspection, repair, maintenance and installation of various types of Regal Rexnord and similar products. The associate will be able to assist or perform a variety of field service duties and may be asked to lead teams of peers in these types of activities. Service activities may include, but are not limited to, mechanical and electrical tasks, as well as assist with tasks such as procurement of supplies, organization of equipment/tools and completion of field service reports. In addition, this person will be required to interact with and utilize a variety of software types, instruments and computer equipment. The majority of service activities are in North American however, service activities in other countries are common and will occur.

Requirements

  • Primary language: English
  • Secondary-level (beyond H.S.) industrial/mechanical trade school or apprenticeship diploma/certificate
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in one of the following areas: Field Services, Millwright, Machinist, Maintenance/Repair, or Engineering
  • Experience and competence reading and interpreting blueprints and other technical drawings
  • Experience and competence using measuring tools/equipment (i.e. micrometers, calipers, and dial and electronic indicators)
  • Experience and competence with industrial drive train alignment
  • Experience and competence with hand tools
  • Ability to carry and lift items such as, but not limited to, tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Agility to climb and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to, hard hat, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, safety glasses, goggles, face mask, respirator, fire-resistant clothing, gloves, safety harness, etc.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, both written and oral (MS Office)
  • Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Frequent travel (Domestic and International)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in an industrial/mechanical-based engineering technology or technician program
  • Prior experience with rotating mechanical power transmission products, (i.e. gear reducers, motors, bearings, couplings, universal shafts, etc.)
  • Industrial maintenance or technical service experience, Hands-on mechanical background
  • Valid/current passport
  • OSHA 30 training for construction or general industry completed within the last 5 years
  • MSHA Certification
  • CMRT, (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician)

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in daily production, operating equipment, performing Standard Work, and supporting workflow to meet SQDC targets
  • Leads by example on the floor, ensuring safe work practices, quality standards, and efficient production flow
  • Monitors work cell performance and adjust resources, priorities, and tasks to maintain throughput and on-time delivery
  • Serves as the first responder to any problems, diagnosing issues, and coordinating countermeasures
  • Acts as the frontline problem solver, coaching team members in root-cause thinking and problem solving techniques
  • Learns, develops, and sustains RBS 80/20 continuous improvement initiatives
  • Leads 6S improvements, and waste reduction efforts within the work cell
  • Conducts Standard Work audits to ensure job and process instructions are being followed consistently
  • Trains and coaches team members daily, providing clear direction, technical guidance, and work plans.
  • Supports cross training and skill development
  • Provides input on team members performance, development needs, and progression.
  • Fosters a safe, inclusive, respectful, and high engagement team environment
  • Communicates effectively with team members, peers, and leadership team.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all personnel and production-related information encountered in the course of daily work
