About The Position

Managing a dairy farm is no easy task - especially when equipment or tools stop functioning. When things start breaking our members need quick, effective, fixes to get things moovin' again. That's where our Service Technician will come in! The Service Technician is responsible for providing mechanical service, equipment installations, and repairs to all United Dairymen of Arizona member dairies. SERVICE TECHNICIAN PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a variety of maintenance services for dairy farms across the state of Arizona Ensure regular maintenance is performed on motors, machinery, refrigeration systems, electrical, and other vital farm systems Manage the ordering of equipment and parts to perform necessary repairs Performs other duties as assigned. Keep accurate and legible records. SERVICE TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS: Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, time management and problem resolution skills. PLC and process controllers helpful. Mechanical experience with drives, pumps boilers, air compressors, etc. Electrical experience 120, 240 & 480 volt systems. Must have commercial Freon refrigeration systems experience. Must be able to use technical manual and testing equipment. Must be able to make decisions impacting products and safety based on independent judgment and discretion. Must provide personal hand tools. Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions. Shift work required, willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in dairy maintenance or equivalent experience. Must have a clean driving record to drive a company vehicle Prior experience in farm or dairy maintenance environment a plus Education/Certifications: Must have High School Diploma, or equivalent. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires ability to sit, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 50lbs. Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of varying heights Requires ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extreme heat Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings. Requires ability to hear and speak.
