About The Position

Northern Pennsylvania | Field Service Tech - Electrical Focus If you’re the kind of tech who chases down electrical gremlins instead of avoiding them, this one’s for you. Qnergy is hiring a Field Service Technician with strong electrical chops to support our Instrument Air and remote power generation systems across Northern PA. This is a hands-on, field-first role for someone who’s comfortable opening panels, reading prints, troubleshooting live systems, and owning the problem from start to finish. You won’t just “swap parts.” You’ll commission systems, diagnose root causes, train customers, and feed real-world insights back to engineering. High trust. High autonomy. Real impact. What You’ll Be Doing: Show up as a trusted technical partner at industrial customer sites across Northern Pennsylvania. Install, wire, commission, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Track down issues in controls, sensors, wiring, power distribution, grounding, and interfaces. Perform pre-commissioning checks, annual maintenance, and warranty service. Provide remote electrical diagnostics and support when boots-on-the-ground aren’t required. Read and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and mechanical prints. Document field findings clearly and escalate design or manufacturing issues with precision. Create service reports and help refine installation and troubleshooting procedures. Train operators and customers, with a strong focus on electrical operation and safety. Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Ops to continuously improve the product.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of field service experience (oil & gas a plus, not a dealbreaker).
  • Experience with systems tied to: Instrument Air or air compressors. Power generation or energy equipment. HVAC, rotating equipment, or industrial controls.
  • Hands-on expertise with industrial electrical systems, including: Low-voltage power and control wiring. Sensors, instrumentation, and field devices. Electrical troubleshooting using meters and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude — you’re comfortable across electro-mechanical systems.
  • Safety-first mindset in electrical and field environments.
  • Comfortable working independently in remote field conditions.
  • Clear communicator with solid documentation habits.
  • Organized, self-directed, and calm under pressure.
  • Professional presence with customers — you explain issues clearly and confidently.
  • Ability (and patience) to train customers on system operation and basic diagnostics.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation (nights, weekends, holidays as needed).
  • Frequent travel across Northern PA; occasional extended field assignments.
  • Outdoor work at oil & gas sites — expect real Pennsylvania weather.
  • Elevated noise environments and industrial settings.
  • Regular use of diagnostic tools, computers, and hand tools.
  • Work happens in the field first, with occasional office time.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or similar (nice to have, not required).
  • Safety certs (First Aid/CPR, H2S, OSHA) are a bonus — we’ll help fill gaps if needed.
