About The Position

Field Service Tech (CDL Class A Driver – Septic & Environmental Services) Location: Hueytown, AL (Birmingham Area) Company: Advance Plumbing & Septic of Birmingham (A Liquid Environmental Solutions Company) Job Type: Full-Time Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour + Overtime Schedule: Monday–Friday | 10–12 hour shifts | 55–60 hours per week Home Daily Job Overview Advance Plumbing & Septic of Birmingham is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to support septic tank pump-outs, grease pumping, equipment delivery, and installation support. This is a hands-on, physical role where driving is only part of the job. The right candidate understands that this position involves manual labor , working directly with septic systems, and interacting professionally with residential and commercial customers. This is steady, local work with consistent overtime and growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities Operate vacuum trucks, pump trucks, and service vehicles (manual and automatic transmissions) Perform septic tank pump-outs and grease pumping services Inspect septic systems and identify visible issues; communicate findings to customers Assist with equipment delivery, installations, and general job-site support Perform manual excavation by hand to access septic tank lids when required Handle and work around sewage / human waste safely and professionally Complete required documentation and follow safety and compliance procedures Occasional evening work for specific customers (limited and scheduled) Work as part of a team to ensure jobs are completed correctly the first time Work Breakdown Approximately 40% driving Approximately 60% physical / manual labor This is not a drop-and-go driving job.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL (Required)
  • Tanker Endorsement (Required before first day)
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial or military driving experience
  • Ability to operate a 10-speed manual transmission
  • Medically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs or more and perform physical labor throughout the day
  • Willingness to work in septic and wastewater environments
  • Must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
