About the Role We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded summer intern to join our Field Service organization in support of our ProteinSimple scientific instrument lines. This role will work closely with Field Service Team Leaders, Sales Leaders, and Finance partners to develop a financial and value-proposition model for our portfolio of service contracts. This is a high-impact project that will contribute directly to our strategy. At the end of the 12-week internship, you will present your findings and proposed recommendations.

Requirements

  • Working toward a degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience building and working with financial and analytical models.
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable using modeling tools and/or data visualization platforms.
  • Able to interpret complex data and translate it into strategic recommendations.
  • Effective communicator capable of presenting complex findings to stakeholders.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to take ownership of a real-world business challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models to evaluate customer value and compare instrument service tiers.
  • Analyze service tier differences to identify what drives customer value and potential opportunities to optimize the tiering structure.
  • Synthesize financial, operational, and customer insights into clear strategic recommendations regarding the service tier model.
  • Collaborate with Field Service, Finance, Product, and Sales teams to collect data, validate assumptions, and refine analyses.
  • Prepare an executive‑ready presentation summarizing findings, insights, and recommended next steps.
